My father Dr. Horst moved to South Australia in 1981. Before that he had general practise in Lower Bavaria and was an anaesthetist at the local hospital. He had studied medicine at the University of Erlangen in German University, being awarded a PhD. In the course of his general practise he found that what he had been taught at medical school did not suffice to truly help his patients and began to broaden his horizons. In SA he originally worked for a large hospital but soon changed to work as a very highly qualified naturopath.
Over the years he often returned to Europe. He was registered in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom. Horst was highly regarded among his peers, and in Australia and Germany many doctors and dentist feel honoured to have learnt from him. - I am one of them.
In March 2024, someone including a national newspaper started throwing mud at him - now in his 83rd year. Where this mud comes from escapes my knowledge, as I have lived in Europe since 2009 and haven't been back to Australia since 2012.
I was also not prepared for the stir my "vision-board" - namely this website which was originally created for South Australia - would raise and what problems it would cause for my father and my friends.
I created this website on free server space, back in 2013, when I gained my licence to work as a natural doctor in Germany, dreaming that one day I would return to Australia and perhaps work with
my father despite the fact that Australia had not granted my citizenship application in 2012, because I had been out of the country too long, studying medicine, working at a pharmaceutical giant
and especially raising my daughter - an Australian citizen - alone and without support. My dream was of teaming up with my girl-friends, who studied Ayurveda with me and are truly remarkable
women. But the law had just been changed, my daughter still at school, and I saw no way back.
The property I picked for the vision board, was the property, where I had lived in a caravan, while going to High School. Until Covid, my father lived mainly in Germany, so of course, the site had no effect on him, either. It was Covid, which caught him in Australia, that
I can but apologize for the trouble and pain my site caused, not only my father but also other people dear to me.
In 2012, I was devastated that I was not granted citizenship of the country where I had gone to school, got married, had my daughter, got divorced, studied several degrees and diplomas, had my best friends, bought my first real estate and so on and so on. What has become of the country that I thought was great? Let me tell you: When you see it from a distance, it doesn't look that great any more.
You sad little Australia. The AMA has way too much clout. I guess that has historic reasons, but if you follow the money trail, you'll find your culprits.
